What time of year is the cheapest to ship a car across the country?
I'm looking at deals to ship between California and New York and thinking I'd just sell my car and buy another one there. But! If there was a best time of year to ship a car at a good price, when would it be?
I've heard people say that prices skyrocket in the summer because of the rush on the roads, and in the late fall/early spring when "snowbirds" are shipping cars back and forth between the northern states and Florida/Arizona.
Supposedly mid-winter and late spring are the cheapest because demand drops, but does it really drop that much?
If I can wait until then, what difference does it make (in percentage or dollars)? A few hundred dollars would be worth it, less than a hundred, probably not.
